The cat’s corner is under the staircase. That’s where his litter box lives. His food and water bowls guard the entrance to his zone. This painting is the first of hopefully several more that will be on display under the staircase at cat-height so he can have his own little gallery to admire on his way to and from his special sandbox.


I’ve never really tried to paint a portrait before so all things considered I think it looks pretty good. More importantly I had a ton of fun painting it. The background is meant to be shredded up hundred dollar bills because the cat loves to shred up paper and I wanted his portrait to display him in a powerful light and what’s more powerful than a cat shredding up hundred dollar bills? He is especially skilled at pulling the bookmark out of the book you are reading and chewing it up…
